Local connectivity of the Mandelbrot set is one of the most important conjectures in the study of complex dynamics. In contrast, Hubbard and Schleicher proved that the tricorn, the connectedness locus of the anti-holomorphic quadratic family, is not path connected. We briefly explain there results and recent progress on topological property of the tricorn.
