Abstract:

This talk deals with the ability of some organisms in the nature to find the shortest path between two points. In particular, we are going to talk about a mathematical model describing the dynamics of the physarum on a maze. The challenge is to find an algorithm explaining the capacity of this kind of bacteria to find the shortest path between points, which can connect the starting position of the colony with a final requested destination that can be given by one or several food sources. We will also discuss about the potential applications of this research in medicine and engineer.
